When Malin came home to Sweden in the fall of 2009, she was very moved by all the homeless and vulnerable people in central Gothenburg. It was a radical difference from when she left Sweden in 1977. She decided to make a difference. The result is “Home for the homeless”, a non-profit lecture evening for the benefit of these people who are having a hard time. She has worked together with the Gothenburg City Mission and all proceeds from this evening went precisely to the City Mission, which knows best how the money can be used in the best way.
The first “Home for the homeless” evening happened on 20/11/2012 at the Lisebergsteatern in Gothenburg. Malin lectured for free together with good friends “Fireman” Lasse Gustavson and Michael Södermalm. Thanks to the audience, the evening brought in SEK 80,115, which went to the City Mission.
Malin Hammar organized this event again in 2013 and 2014, again with famous lecturers by her side.
Let us all help each other to help those in need.
